Description:
Expression of Interest are invited for Improving Access to Finance and Digital Skills for SMEs in Liberia: Baseline Survey. Assignment Description The COVID-19 pandemic posed a major threat to the Liberian economy and its people, in particular urban informal non-farm firms, which saw large revenue losses, with the risk of closing due to limited access to formal credit. The World Bank-funded Recovery of Economic Activity for Liberian Informal Sector Employment (REALISE) Project has the development objective to increase access to income earning opportunities for the vulnerable in the informal sector in response to the COVID-19 crisis in Liberia. Component 1 of the Project will provide support to small businesses through a combination of grants, business training, and the piloting of an add-on intervention to improve beneficiaries online visibility and their connectivity to customers and other businesses. An impact evaluation (IE) will accompany its roll-out. This selection is for a consultant firm to implement the IE baseline data collection through in-person and SMS surveys of micro-entrepreneurs in the Greater Monrovia area.
